Turf Masters Lawn Care of Alabaster, AL

“I have been using Turf Masters for a few months now and I am very disappointed. I have a very small yard and needed help getting rid of the crab grass but also didnt feel like doing the fertilizer myself anymore. When the route manager came out to look at my lawn I showed him the small area of grass in front of the house and the strip next to my driveway. He recommended a lime treatment be done on the first round due to the compacted soil. I agreed and decided to move forward with his plan. They came out for the first treatment and no lime was applied, but an aeration was recommended. After the third treatment and the lime had still not been applied I called. The lady I spoke with said that there was a note on my file that the tech had come to do the service but we did not answer the door. My wife works from home and has seen them everytime they have been out. She said that never happened. I have also called multiple times because after 3 scheduled treatments and multiple re treatments there are still weeds and the crab grass looks healthy and is still growing strong! When I reached out to the route manager about the weeds, he stopped responding to me. My grass doesn't look any better than it did before they started treating it. I had it looking better last summer by doing it myself with products from the big box stores. Lastly, I decided to do the Double pass core aeration per there recommendation. I got home and noticed the small plugs in the lawn. I walked the yard to see what it looked like and there were a couple of areas that hadn't been gone over with the aerator at all. There were also some areas that only had a couple of little plugs, it definitely did not look like a double pass was done anywhere in my yard. I will be canceling”

“Hired them nearly 2 years ago. They stated they fertilized and laid a pre-emergent. They lied. Yard is covered in weeds grass is bare and spotty throughout the yard. I requested a refund on all services as it seemed to me that none were really provided. I recieved $150 refund so all in all I lost about $2k and I'm having to repair the mess they left me with. After doing one treatment on my own my yard greened up and I was able to kill all the weeds but the crabgrass and Dallis grass. So if you're looking to hire these people I would suggest do it yourself as that's what you'll end up having to do after they fail you.”

“I've been with Turf Masters for a few years and the service has always been great with no problems. Also the new technician Tyler is doing a great job. I will say the most recent experience was not typical. I pay for my service yearly yet after my recent service my credit card was charged for a service. I called to have this corrected and everyone I spoke to were friendly and assured me it would be corrected. I do not know where the breakdown was but Citi did not see a credit from Turf Masters even though Turf Masters says they did credit the money back. It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things bc past service and billing there has never been any problems. However I do hope it's not the start of a new trend. :-) I would recommend Turf Masters to others.”
