“Ricky Smith, branch manager cancelled my service after some confusion with billing, yelled at me and told me my lawn was unserviceable. My lawn is Dead the last time it was serviced was in May. After reading other reviews my story is the same. Communication is awful, it was green for a minute then like the others full of weeds and dead. I was told it was untreatable, it was my decision to do grub control not theres. Absolutely amazing. Seriously? Why would I pay $90 a trip if it's untreatable? I believe now that my grass is dead they don't want to take responsibility for it..I agreed after receiving a phone call from a sales representative to give them another try and they cancelled and nobody called me. It was in their best interest not to service my lawn I was told. Run as fast as you can..No, I am not confused very much in my right mind. Good luck to anyone using them. I will not end here I plan on filing a complaint with Clemson extension after testing my lawn, BBB, EPA and whomever else I can as a fair warning.”

“DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!! If i could give a - 5 stars, that would be my rating. I hired Faiway lawns to come out and start in February. My thoughts were to get an early start on the season by using what thought would be a professional service. Fairway is anything but! They were supposed to call each time they came out. Only once did that happen. Horrible communication and their service speaks for itself. After 3 months of service, my yard looks worse than it ever has. The weeds are thriving and my grass has died. My yard was supposedly treated for weed control. I now have an abundance of weeds that I never had before. When I complained, I was told that a manager was going to contact me. but Never happened. (until I posted this review!)Not sure if the technicians are the issue but from what I can tell, it starts at the top. A complete ripoff is an understatement! Funny how just a few minutes after leaving this review, I get a phone call from Faiway. They tell me that I need more treatments and that It needs watering. I did water the weeds because thats all that i have left. They claim that it just went dormant. Looks dead to me. Just more excuses for their technicians incompetence.”

“When I began services, I explained that I knew nothing about grass or lawn care. I was told that Fairway Lawns would be there to guide me through what needed to be done to obtain a beautiful lawn. Needless to say, that never happened. I never got specific watering or grass cutting instructions. The only watering instructions I received, would be on the service summary report that would say water within 48 hours of treatment. My lawn was also treated often. For example, the Sup R Soil treatment. According to the website, the Sup R Soil should be once a year and my lawn was treated 9/23 & 4/24 which is less than a year apart. I have had at least 10 treatments/rounds since 3/23 and my grass looks horrible or should I say the grass remnants. It looks worse than before the treatment began. Currently my lawn has drought damage because I was not instructed on exactly how to water. My last service note states 1-2 inches of water per week. That does not tell me how often to water or for how long. The report also suggested top dressing but they don't even offer that service nor did they suggest a vendor. I assumed they were full service. Now I have to figure out something else to get my lawn looking halfway decent. Update: I never received a call addressing my concerns. Today I attempted to login to my account to pull my paid invoices. My email address is no longer registered in their portal. I wonder why?”

Didn’t get what I paid for

Chose The Ground Guys based on reviews. Yes, they were prompt, courteous and talked a good talk. We hired them to remove existing sod because we had a lot of nutsedge, buttonweed due to water ponding on uneven surfaces. This was in August 2023. It stated in the contract that Ground Guys would grade our back lawn and install fresh centipede sod. When job was completed we still had low lying areas.

After notifying The Ground Guys , it took them until October 2023to return with 5 gallon bucket or soil( not enough), which the employees kicked in place with their boots. Threw down a few pieces of dried out sod and did not brick lay it.

Here we are in May 2024 and we had to replace that same entire area as it died from water ponding -still! We have had more crabgrass than ever on the rest of the lawn as well as – yep you guessed it- nutsedge and buttonweed..

I have spent well over 120 hours hand picking various weeds besides the crabgrass, nutsedge and buttonweed. In short, the worst quality of sod I have ever seen that we paid $6000 for.

If you want great sod call HARMONY BRAND FARMS ! The best ever sod! For small jobs you can call them to find out when they will be delivering to your nearest Home Depot or Lowe’s. Beautiful, thick, lush , weed free centipede sod.

Oh and yes I did reach out to the owner,Ben via text and -CRICKETS!

Have been using them for a couple years now. As of lately they don’t leave a breakdown of cost of service & just charge card. This past visit they were ONLY supposed to do a tick service and did and charged us for the entire front of our property almost $600 bucks not approved (we discussed TICK service ONLY) now they are ignoring our calls and will not refund us for the service we did NOT ask for as well as again charging our CC without service price breakdown. I specifically spoke to them week prior about where they would be spraying they take advantage of customers and their money and just automatically decide what THEY want to do and charge my CC without authorization and bill. VERY expensive service and unprofessional employees
